Vertebral took part in the Architizer A+Awards with Casa Ohana, obtaining Special Mention in the Private House (XL >6000 sq ft) category. With entries received from over 70 countries, the Jury has acknowledged outstanding entries as Special Mentions alongside the Finalists and Winners.
Vertebral secured second place in the Arquine Competition No. 26. In this edition, participants were invited to design, build, and activate a pavilion in the Historic Center of Mexico City as part of the MEXTRÓPOLI Architecture and City Festival.
"The spectacle of the cloud lies partly in having designed a pavilion that can be eaten. Having an edible pavilion makes it unique in its kind and incorporates a symbol of Mexican childhood idiosyncrasy: the cotton candy cloud that becomes a space. It is light, fresh, joyful, and colorful."
Elías Kalach has been awarded with CAM-SAM Grand Prize for Professional Merit (Young Architects), which has been obtained thanks to the professional achievements he has cultivated along with Teddy Nanes, founding partner of VERTEBRAL, along with the rest of his team.
